ABOUT THIS ROLE
As Corporate Counsel you will be a key member of Audible’s European and wider global legal teams. You will have a broad pan-European remit including privacy, product, marketing, and regulatory counsel, and more. You will work on a variety of complicated and sophisticated transactions. And will provide strategic and legal advice across a wide range of issues.
We are looking for candidates who are customer-obsessed, enjoy being challenged, work independently, and deliver pragmatic and practical advice in ambiguous situations.
As a Corporate Counsel, you will...
- Serve as lead European counsel on privacy, data protection, and related matters, liaising closely with Amazon’s European privacy legal team and Audible’s predominantly US-based strategic regulatory and information security teams
- Provide legal counsel to UK-, EU-, and US-based clients on European product and service initiatives and launches
- Advise clients on UK and EU marketing law requirements and business development opportunities
- Monitor and lead Audible’s response to regulatory developments impacting our European operations
- Structure, draft, negotiate and review a variety of complex commercial agreements
- Maintain or develop standard contract forms, policies and processes
- Instruct and manage external counsel

Basic Qualifications
- UK, German, French, Italian, or Spanish qualified lawyer
- Trained and qualified at an international law firm
- 5+ years post-qualification experience of commercial and privacy law
- Experience supporting a digital media or content business as a member of, or on secondment to, an in-house team
- Business fluency in English

- Proficiency in an additional European language (in particular German, French, Spanish, Italian)
