ABOUT THIS ROLE
Audible UK has three state of the art in-house recording studios where a range of audio dramas, podcasts and audiobooks are recorded alongside running workshops and training events for charity partners and industry professionals. Our three recording studios range from a single-voice audiobook studio through to a large studio suitable for huge ensemble casts alongside a Dolby Atmos mixing suite. We are looking for a Studio Manager to join our Studios and Production team.
The role of the Studio Manager is to ensure a smooth running of the recording studios and sessions as well as create an environment for talent to thrive in creatively. The experience of our studio guests is at the forefront of what we do.
Alongside this, we aim to stay at the forefront of emerging recording technologies within our studios, enabling us to produce the most innovative, exciting and best in class audio experiences for our members. The Studio Manager will have a passion for discovering and testing new recording technologies, techniques and kit.
This position is an 18 month fixed-term contract.
As a Studio Manager, you will...
- Manage the studio calendar, including booking process and scheduling, ensuring sessions are given adequate time and resource
- Ensure each studio session is planned with key information and assets gathered from internal and external stakeholders
- Keep at the forefront of developing recording technologies through research and testing
- Maintain and oversee best practices to ensure talent are given the best studio experience
- Ensure kit is in working order and in line with industry standards
- Manage the booking and work of engineers and runners, including training
- Ensure that the studio facilities are kept clean and tidy with any stock ordered and replenished
- Provide support to studio crew and be on hand to help with ad hoc queries or troubleshooting
- Engineer recording sessions on an ad hoc basis
- Create call sheets and booking confirmations

Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years experience of managing a recording studio
- Experience of working with on and off mic talent in a busy studio environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of recording techniques, process and signal flow

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of working with Pro Tools
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work with a wide variety of people
- Strong logistical, organisational and time-management skills
- Able to work independently and proactively
