This opportunity is for a Software Development Manager who will manage and grow one or more engineering teams for Audible’s Digital Asset Management (ADAM) group. It’s up to you to define, design and refine the tech that keeps us one step ahead of listeners. Anticipate. Innovate. ABOUT THE TEAM
The Audible Digital Asset Management (ADAM) team is responsible for the critical infrastructure that powers the encoding and publishing of audio, image, and other assets that bring audiobooks to life. Our team manages the complex process of receiving and processing assets from publishers through various channels, utilizing automated workflows to ensure efficiency and quality. We develop and maintain systems for automated issue detection, e-book and audiobook synchronization, audio encoding, and more – all while also providing essential tooling support for the Audio Production team. ADAM plays a crucial role in publishing encoded audio, assets, and metadata to various marketplaces, enabling consumption across supported audio players. As a Software Development Manager you will…
- Lead the delivery of large cross-functional projects, spanning teams and divisions within Audible and Amazon
- Collaborate to define core business objectives, ensuring efficient utilization of company resources for the best product, program, or project outcomes
- Manage multiple projects from concept to launch, working with cross-functional teams including technology, business, and operations, even when faced with conflicting priorities
- Contribute to the definition of technical architectures
- Demonstrate technical expertise, attention to detail, and proactivity in identifying and resolving issues
- Maintain consistent and transparent communication of project risks, progress, launches, and retrospectives to all stakeholders and teams
- Continuously strive to improve project execution performance, setting new benchmarks using objective metrics
- Actively mentor and develop junior team members, enhancing their skills, knowledge of our systems, and ability to achieve results

A day in the life
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years experience of software development and deployment of distributed multi-tier applications
- 3+ years experience managing agile software projects across multiple and geographically distributed teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience implementing solutions leveraging AWS capabilities
- Past experience leveraging machine learning models to deliver insights and enrich customer experiences
- Action-oriented strategic thinker
- Be able to thrive in an ambiguous environment - where change is the only constant
- Detailed oriented to ensure that project success
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and an out of the box thinker
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work in a very fast paced environment
- Track record of defining and delivering cross functional solutions that are innovative and extensible
- Be able to disagree, yet align, when dealing with different stakeholders
- Results oriented and with a strong customer focus
- Highly autonomous
