ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Associate Manager, Catalog Operations works to maintain the Audible catalog through accurate creation and editing of consistent product metadata including core metadata, table of contents, series, & affiliations relationships that aid customer discovery and navigation through internal channels and external search engines. They work closely with internal teams and manage queues to ensure the metadata they own is published correctly, accurately, in a timely manner, and in accordance with search engine optimization best practices.

As an Associate Manager, Catalog Operations, you will...
- Process and create trouble tickets containing metadata change requests from customers, authors, and content providers, index and copyedit product metadata to support daily processing of new titles, create new product records from publishing partner asset deliveries, and assist with ad-hoc update projects encompassing large swaths of the catalog
- Prioritize, delegate, fact-check, copyedit, and organize Table of Contents data received from internal and third-party sources in adherence with the Audible style guide, performing this work on time-sensitive new releases, back catalog, and special projects
- Fact-check and curate Audible series pages for online display to customers, in accordance with internal best practices and customer feedback
- Provide in-depth knowledge and guidance, coaching, and direction to junior team members using knowledge and application of standardized operations and procedures and regular communication with colleagues, immediate superiors, and partners to help interpret or clarify technical information to aid understanding and ability to adapt style accordingly
- Recommend modifications to existing processes, methods, and approaches as needed to improve existing approaches

Basic Qualifications
- B.A., B.S., or equivalent degree, preferably in the humanities
- 1+ years of professional proofreading, copy-editing, and fact-checking experience in publishing
- 1+ years of experience in a digital publishing environment

Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style
- Familiarity with SEO concepts
- Familiarity with the ONIX publishing standard for rich book metadata
- Technical proficiency in Windows operating environment
- Fluency in Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Demonstrated multi-tasking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
