ABOUT THIS ROLE
In an effort to push the boundaries of spoken-word entertainment, Audible is now developing, commissioning and producing a wide range of high-quality, original, audio programs. From award winning multi-cast dramas starring some of the world’s best actors and live stand-up comedy to landmark documentary series and partnerships with leading cultural institutions, Audible’s original content commissions will inspire, challenge, delight, surprise and redefine the public’s perception of audio. The Audible Originals team is responsible for the creation of a large portfolio of groundbreaking new content. They create exclusive, high quality and exceptional listening experiences for a global audience. A vital part of our original content portfolios are productions taking place in our theater in Manhattan’s West Village on Minetta Lane.
ABOUT YOU
To support the ongoing work of bringing high quality live performances to our community and groundbreaking audio to our listeners, we are looking for an experienced, established and well-connected Theater Producer to join the team. In this role, you will work extensively with the entire Audible team based in our Newark office and with the live theater General Management, Production Management, Press, and Advertising teams in Manhattan.
As a Producer, you will...
- Oversee the execution of our theater-based content, in collaboration with the senior most members of our team
- Participate in sourcing, developing, producing, and overseeing projects while also stepping in on certain existing projects already in motion
- Give creative guidance and feedback to writers, producers, and creators on outlines, scripts, cuts, and all other incoming material
- Serve as communication hub for all production activities
- Coordinate and oversee the creation and maintenance of our production schedule
- Project manage the production process for both live stage productions and audio from planning to execution
- Attend rehearsal, tech, previews, performances and special events as needed
- Liaise with both internal and external partners to ensure clear communication between the artistic team and other stakeholders
- Attend staff meetings

Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience independently managing creative producing projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of all areas of theatrical production
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute complex projects
- An understanding and demonstrated capacity to support creators and the creative process
- Demonstrated ability to develop and work within an approved budget
- Experience in audio production
- Relationships with playwrights, directors, designers, performers, and theatrical agents
- Experience with contracts and deal-making
- Demonstrated ability to produce and create content with a product-based sensibility
