ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Audible’s “Next Chapter” Returnship Program is a paid full-time internship for experienced professionals returning to the workforce after taking time off for caregiving. The program is open to professionals who have at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least one year to focus on caring for a child or other dependent. If you meet these criteria, we welcome you to apply. This program offers you a chance to revamp your skills, update your resume with new experiences, and make connections with other professionals.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll play a critical role in defining the testing strategy and architecture that ensures the continued quality and reliability of our data, marketing technology, and AI-powered systems. You'll own the full testing lifecycle - from designing functional and performance test suites to implementing test automation frameworks and delivering high-quality software on tight schedules.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will...
- Help define the QA strategy and select appropriate tools to support the engineering teams working on data, marketing technology, or artificial intelligence systems
- Own the full test lifecycle for large-scale systems across web, mobile web, and native applications
- Deliver test automation, quality requirements, functional and performance test suites, and high-quality software deliverables
- Contribute to the architecture of test automation solutions, identify limitations, and develop major routines and utilities
- Generate metrics and insights that drive continuous improvement in development practices
- Review technical requirements, software design specs, and implementation to ensure quality
- Establish best practices for test automation, frameworks, and documentation
- Take advantage of resources and training to stay up-to-date on tools, trends, and technologies, and share that knowledge with the team

Basic Qualifications
- Experience owning the full test strategy through test completion for components of a software system
- Experience in writing queries to validate data against backend databases
- Hands on experience with test automation using a programming or scripting language
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with web and mobile testing
- Experience working with Agile methodologies
- Proficient in a broad range of data structures and algorithms, knowing when it is (and isn't) appropriate to use them
- 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of test automation solutions
- Ability to triage issues, react well to changes, and collaborate effectively with other test and development teams
- Strong communication skills - ability to provide information to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike and guide them to confidently informed decisions
