ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Associate Director, Publisher Relations oversees publisher relationships, negotiations, and catalogue performance for our audiobook vendors in the LATAM markets of Brazil and other upcoming new marketplaces.
In this role, you will manage publisher relationships, negotiate deal terms, and drive agreements for audiobook vendors across different markets, to help deliver the leading spoken word catalogue for our audience in the respective marketplaces. Publisher relationships will be cultivated in close coordination with our global content teams.

You are an experienced negotiator and build, influence and maintain relationships with publishing partners by impacting and making business decisions, and undertaking creative solution finding.

As a Associate Director, Publisher Relations LATAM, you will...
- Negotiate terms for new distribution and content opportunities
- Identify and investigate new partnership opportunities in light of strategic goals and develop unique and ambitious deal structures to meet those goals and grow Audible’s content offerings
- Create written reports and presentation materials for executives which communicates financial analysis, strategic perspective, and drive toward a recommendation
- Support all content investment decisions through data, provide accurate recommendations for the content strategy based on performance data analysis, cost control (COGS) and financial projections
- Lead and design processes and systems for the entire LATAM content acquisition team that supports our investment decision process
- Maintain and develop strong and productive strategic and day-to-day relations with all our publishing partners for Brazil and upcoming marketplaces while also cooperating with cross-functional teams in developing the global expansion
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to develop deal strategy, formulate key terms including all related analysis, strategizing and planning for a variety of complex agreements and negotiations with global publishing vendors
- Communicate deal proposals and deal results through written reports and presentations

Basic Qualifications

- 6+ years of relevant experience in international intellectual property rights licensing businesses (preferably from the book, television, film or computer game industry) to create agreements where there is no precedent
- Experience conducting complex, high profile negotiations that rely on economic and financial understanding to achieve the goals of the company, from initiation through closing
- Negotiation experience in Portuguese and/or Spanish, in addition to English
- Experience with quantitative and analytical skills, including generating reports, analyzing data, and identifying trends

- Highly collaborative with teams and individuals across the institution, experience in working in matrix environments
- A well-developed network into key partners in the LATAM book publisher and agent landscape as well as a track record of gaining the trust and respect of others to lead teams in transformational, high-growth and customer-centric environments
- Proactive attitude with excellent project management, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to change
