ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are seeking a highly motivated Media & Planning Manager to join our team on a 12 month contract to assist with brand and content media planning (in conjunction with the agency and JP based media director), reporting and analysis for Japan. Based in Sydney, you will report to the Director, Awareness Media APAC and partner closely with our JP based agency to develop effective media plans that grow our brand awareness, consideration and engagement in Japan. You will also support the broader APAC media team through insightful reporting co-ordinations and diligent budget controls. Collaborating effectively with Brand & Content Marketing, PR and Data & Analytics teams to ensure a holistic communications approach will also be a crucial part of your role. You will help deliver a step change in our media execution and work effectively with internal teams & external agencies to think big, challenge the norm and drive the growth of Audible. This is a 12 month contract.

ABOUT YOU
You are a passionate and organized individual with strong communication & project management skills, have an eye for detail and an analytical mindset. You have experience working in a media role for Japan or APAC and have knowledge of the Japanese media landscape. You have strong Japanese language skills. You are a self-starter with a curious mind who views media opportunities through an audience-first lens. You have strong communication skills, experience in optimizing ways-of-working, and the ability to manage your time well and to learn quickly in a dynamic environment. You thrive in a collaborative team culture where no one day is the same; your flexibility and priority management will ensure you have the right balance between day-to-day activities and longer-term projects. You can project manage complex tasks with cross-functional teams from different countries and have an infectious passion for demonstrating the ROI of your plans.

As the JP Media & Planning Manager, you will...
- Support the Associate Director: Awareness Media to develop and execute multi-channel Awareness plans that fuel new member growth. Key channels include (but are not limited to) TV, BVOD/CTV, Out-of-Home, Premium OLV, Social, Audio and Influencers
- Be the primary POC on the executional components of our Awareness plans, spanning Implementation briefs to the media agency, managing agency response workflows, plan approvals, co-ordination between Awareness and Performance plans
- Help drive full funnel thinking, in partnership with the Performance Team
- Co-ordinate test & learn plan execution across Awareness & Performance spend to better understand marketing ROI
- Foster a positive and constructive relationship with the media agency team as well as key media partners
- Act as the main interface between Media and Brand & Content marketing teams, to manage campaign creative requirements & delivery
- Lead campaign reporting for Awareness campaigns, and assist the broader Marketing & Media teams with recommendations on how to improve reporting and process
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Japan media landscape and the ability to capitalize on any new opportunities
- Own competitor monitoring & reporting
- With finance, own the Awareness media financial process, from PO approvals through to monthly budget reconciliation and management of vendor invoicing reviews
- Manage the centralization of budget forecasting and tracking across Awareness and Performance media for JP
- Be the central point-of-contact on any JP reporting & process requirements from the Global media team
- With finance and channel owners, own the Performance media financial process, from PO approvals through to monthly budget reconciliation, and management of vendor invoicing reviews
- Collaborate with performance channel managers, finance and other stakeholders in the preparation of regular reporting, as relates to media and marketing spend

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree with experience in a media or marketing role
- Business level proficiency in both Japanese & English
- Experienced in developing effective media plans
- Experience managing large, complex budgets
- Experience in managing day to day media agency relationships and outputs
- Experience with Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

- Analytical competency, with the ability to interpret data and explain insights clearly for to the required audience
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- A keen collaborator who has a track record of influencing and driving results through persuasion
- Able to juggle multiple priorities and manage time efficiently
- Process orientated with the ability to proactively optimize ways of working
