Audible is looking for an organized, and enthusiastic candidate to join the fast-paced world of Accounting and Finance. We’re looking for exceptional people with accounting and related finance experience combined with systems knowledge, a customer service passion, analytical, auditing and problem-solving skills.
The position of Senior Accountant, in accordance with established policies and procedures, will be responsible for day-to-day general ledger and content accounting for Audible’s Global Content business. This includes P&L and Balance Sheet monthly financial close activities and maintenance of the content asset sub-ledger. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in implementing process improvements, integrating new systems and participating in company-wide initiatives.

As a Senior Accountant, you will...
- Support the entries and maintenance of the general ledger for Audible’s Global Content Accounting by ensuring proper, accurate, and timely recording of transactions in accordance with GAAP and Company policies
- Be responsible for the maintenance and monthly reconciliation of the content asset sub-ledger including the proper recording of asset additions, cost adjustments, retirements and disposals in accordance with Company policies
- Support Amazon’s transfer pricing team to ensure compliance with policies
- Review Audible’s content amortization policy annually and implement new amortization policies
- Review contracts and determine appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP and Company policies (i.e. prepayments, accruals)
- Review and analyze transactional source documentation and prepare monthly balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations including roll-forwards
- Support current Internal Control environment to ensure that accounting records are accurate and in compliance with GAAP
- Recommend, develop and implement new processes to continually improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the team
- Document current processes and procedures as necessary
- Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis as required
- Collaborate within and across the organization on key company-wide initiatives

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Experience in understanding US GAAP and the practical application of required standards
- Experience in technical accounting, analytical and computer skills
- Experience with system implementations and process improvements, leveraging tools to optimize operational efficiency
